How to adapt your cultural style and language for virtual working
How to adapt your cultural style and language for virtual working
How does online presence differ from personal presence? And most importantly, if our daily work crosses a national or cultural divide, how do we incorporate the need for cultural and linguistic adjustment?
For this webinar held in collaboration with the London School of English, members of the Chamber, we will be exploring both the cultural and linguistic aspects of our new professional virtual life:
- How to communicate in English with clarity, precision and, most importantly, with confidence
- How to understand and be understood when communicating with a diverse group of English language speakers, ranging from native speakers to those in need of further development
- How to accommodate various cultural behaviours in a limited communicative space: how to compensate for body language and gesture and how to adapt to the various communication styles of the participants
- How to delegate and/or offer autonomy to a culture where this may be an unfamiliar practice
- How to grow in confidence by developing and perfecting your English language skills to maximise effective communication
